Zadie Xa

Zadie Xa is a London-based artist, shortlisted for the 2025 Turner Prize. She is known for vibrant, textile-inspired works that merge painting with craft traditions, drawing on diverse histories of art and making, including traditional Korean bojagi patchwork. Worlding forms part of a recent body of work stemming from Xa’s expansive, research-led practice, which explores diasporic identity, global histories and cultural memory through immersive, sensory-driven approaches. Diverse modes of textile production have become a central strand in her work, connecting painting, costume and installation through storytelling, play and material experimentation.
Zadie donated to the 2025 Art of Wishes Gala.
